The Course.

Poniesonline is dedicated to helping you learn about ponies, so we are very keen to hear about your experiences and ideas. We have included a list of recommended books to read, but we are also including book reviews from readers. We want to know what you think of the horsy books that you read.

The Manual of Horsemanship (1997) published by The Pony Club : UK.

Keeping a Pony at Grass (2000) published by The Pony Club : UK.

In the UK you can order these books from any public library, but they may take a couple of weeks to come in.

If you would like to review a book for us, please follow these guidelines:

Begin with the title of the book, the author or authors who wrote it, the date it was published, where it was published and the name of the publisher. All this information is given on the cover and the first two or three pages of a book. If you have trouble finding it, ask your librarian for help.

Tell us whether it is fact or fiction.

If it is a factual book, was it:

easy or difficult to understand?

easy or difficult to find your way around it and get to the parts that you were interested in?

were there enough or too few pictures and diagrams?

did they help you understand the information in the book?

did you enjoy reading it and why?

if you didn't finish the book, why was this?

Book List and Reviews

If the book was fiction, did you:

not want to put it down?

feel that you knew the characters?

sympathize with the characters?

dislike the characters?

find the plot easy or difficult to follow?

enjoy the illustrations in the book?

if you didn't finish the book, why was this?

For both fiction and non-fiction books, please write a very short summary of the book, but if you are writing about a fictional book, be careful not to give the plot away!
